Gallery and Description

What will we do?

We will meet outside the Lisbon Oceanarium and start by a brief introduction about its location, Parque das Nações, and its origins from Expo'98. Then we will enter the Oceanarium (skipping ticket lines) and visit first the temporary exhibition: Forests Underwater by Takashi Amano. This is the largest nature aquarium in the World, designed by the pioneer of Nature Aquascaping, the Japanese Takashi Amano. It is a hypnotic aquarium with plants mimicking a real habitat of tropical forests with almost 100 species of plants and fish!

Then we'll move to the permanent exhibition with the theme Global Ocean. Here you'll find the largest indoor aquarium in Europe, with more than 5 million liters of water! We we'll travel through 4 different Oceans and see some of the 500 marine species living in each one: penguins, sharks, sea otters, coral reefs, amphibians and many many more! Hear some curiosities, stories and fun facts about a few of them. You'll also learn how our daily actions put in danger the existence of these species. In the end, we want you to have lots of fun but, at the same time, be moved to help these species surviving!
